The information in this section is re-published with the kind permission of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit-Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-RFU-CAR) in the Philippines from their CD on Leafminer (Liriomyza spp.) entitled “Scientific Information Database on Leafminer Flies of Vegetables and Ornamental Crops”. This CD includes all published work fully searchable by author, date, title, publication, keyword and or browse all the entries, a 7-minute video plus photo gallery. The CD is useful for those that have no access to published information, or to the Internet in rural areas. All original reprints, reports, photos and other information were obtained from leafminer specialists around the globe to which the DA-RFU-CAR is highly grateful.
The Potato Leaf Miner Task Force (PLMTF) of the DA-RFU-CAR has been involved in several groundbreaking initiatives to disseminate relevant and practical information about leafminers, including the production of a video film entitled
"Knowing More About
Leafminers: Their Way of Life and How to Manage
Them". Extension personnel of the Department have also been involved in an initiative to develop a
"Farmer's Guide To Identify Natural Enemies Of
Leafminer".
