The Department of Agriculture has the twin goals of good security and poverty alleviation and these are hoped to be achieve through the vigorous implementation of the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act. While challenged by global competition, the Department hopes to be more responsive to the needs of the formers and fisherfolks.

Pest management is one of the problems that plaque farmers in the country, which needs to be appropriated acted upon. This Primer on Leafminers of Vegetables in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines aims to address the problem on the leafminer pest that has caused great damage on crops of our farmers in her Cordilleara Region.

May the farmers, agricultural technicians, and extension workers appreciate the purpose for which this primer is made and in order to improve agricultural productivity, increase farmers’ disposable income, and uplift their quality of life
