Guide To Identify Natural Enemies Of Leafminer
Identification
of the natural enemies of leafminer confuses
farmers due to their minute size. With the absence
of microscopes and experts, preliminary
identification becomes more difficult.
In order to assist with better identification, a
Farmer's Guide have been developed and is now
available online. The Guide was produced by funds
from DA-RFU-CAR and DA-CHARM Project. More
information can also be obtained from Dr Ravindra
C. Joshi, Senior Research Fellow at the Department
of Agriculture – Philippine Rice Research
Institute in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

launched to assist local technicians and
farmers, and enhance interactions between
scientists around the globe.

Regional Field Unit-Cordillera Administrative
Region (DA-RFU-CAR) in the Philippines: A video
film entitled "Knowing More About
Leafminers: Their Way of Life and How to Manage
Them" was developed by the Potato Leafminer
Task Force (PLMTF) in the Philippines. It is now
available in Video Home System (VHS) and Compact
Disc (CD) format.
Attack
on leafminers
Dr. Ravinda C. Joshi is a
Senior Research Fellow at the Department of
Agriculture – Philippine Rice Research
Institute in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. He was part of
a team who conducted an intensive study on how
to counter-attack the widespread leafminer
infestation particularly in the Cordilleras
region in the Philippines.
